George McMahon says he is “really chuffed” after signing a two-year professional contract with Burnley. The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who left Rotherham at the end of last season, impressed manager Sean Dyche over an extended trial spell with the Clarets’ development squad and he will now continue his development at Turf Moor over the next 24 months.
McMahon, whose contract includes the option of extending his stay for a further year, was on the bench on Monday night for the Under-23’s as they beat Welsh outfit Cardiff City 4-1 at home.
The shot-stopper says he is excited for the next chapter in his career and is eager to learn from England internationals Tom Heaton, Nick Pope and Joe Hart.
“To have the opportunity to be at a club with this status and the facilities it has, I’m really, really chuffed,” McMahon told the club’s official website. “To be a professional footballer is a dream come true, but it is obviously a small step.
“There is a long way to go, but if I can use the opportunity I’ve been given and make the most of every area of the club – the sports science and all the training facilities – hopefully, I can maximise my potential and see where it takes me.
“It’s been amazing to have the opportunity to train with them every now and then.
“And just to see them walking around the building gives me so much to learn from.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
