Burnley youngster Dwight McNeil admits he is living the dream after making his first start for the club last week. The 18-year-old started the Europa League clash with Olympiakos on Thursday and impressed despite the club being knocked out.
He then followed that up with 80 minutes against Manchester United on Sunday and the winger admits it was a surreal moment.
McNeil supports the Red Devils and came through their academy and he is now ready to push on under Sean Dyche.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It’s been a dream come true, it’s happened so fast.
“I found out on Wednesday I was starting in Europe. With how the first leg went being 3-1 down I didn’t expect to be starting, I just expected to be in and around it.
“But I was really happy when I found out I was just starting. And then I started against United and I’m a United fan as well, I couldn’t believe it, it was another dream come true, but it’s about taking it in and taking it on board.
“I just need to keep playing well. I want to play as best as I can to get more games.”
