Messi resumes Barca training

Lionel Messi has resumed training with Barcelona just 10 days after suffering a broken arm. The Argentina star sustained the injury during the Blaugrana’s 4-2 victory over Sevilla in La Liga on October 20 and he was subsequently forced to miss their Champions League clash with Inter Milan and the first Clasico of the season against Real Madrid.
Barca have coped well in Messi’s absence, beating Inter 2-0 before thrashing Real 5-1, although boss Ernesto Valverde admitted after the Clasico success that his side were still missing their captain’s influence.
However, it appears Barca won’t have to do without Messi for too much longer, as the 31-year-old resumed first-team training on Wednesday.
Messi is unlikely to be considered for Barca’s clash with Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey, while he is also likely to sit out the La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano and the return match with Inter in the Champions League next week.
The forward could, however, make his return to action against Real Betis in La Liga on November 11.
