Atyrau FC defender Michael Odibe has backed the Super Eagles to beat South Africa in today’s 2015 African Cup of Nations in Cape Town but was quick to add that the reigning African champions must play to their strength.
The Eagles suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Congo Brazzaville last Saturday in Calabar and the former Arsenal Kiev defender warned the team against complacency.
“South Africa are at advantage now with the victory over Sudan and we need to work really hard and show enough determination to win the match,” says the defender.
Odibe who scored his first goal of the season in Atyrau’s 3-0 home win against Taraz, hopes he makes a return back to Europe in January.
“It’s a good move for me and I hope to move to Europe in January.”
The one cap Eagles star has played 21 games for his tenth placed team on the Kazakhstan Premier League log.
