Nigerian striker Michael Olaitan has joined Ducth top flight side Twente on loan from Olympiakos.
Olaitan signed a one-year loan deal with the Erevedise club on Thursday night.
Twente have an option to make the move permanent if Olaitan impresses them while on loan.
Oitalan was loaned to Ergotelis last season, where he scored once in twelve appearances in the Greek top division.
The former Nigerian youth international had his best year two seasons ago, when he scored eight league goals for Olympiakos and reached the round of 16 witn the Greek giants, where they lost to Manchester United.
He suffered a heart condition afterwards and hd surgery followed by a long rehabilitation.
But now he says he is fully recovered. “After discussions with my family, I have consciously chosen this club. Dutch football suits me, but also the way FC Twente play, ” he told the Twente website.
“I followed Michael for four years, because I think he is a great striker,” said technical director Ted van Leeuwen. “Very versatile, very disciplined and cool. I find it extraordinary that we have managed to bring this talent to Enschede. Although he’s still only 22 years old, he already has the necessary experience and his personality fits very well in our dressing room. His career again just needs a little push. ”
