Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi has expressed his disappointment with Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield in the Capital One Cup first leg semifinal but is confident the Blues can make it into the final of the competition.
Hazard gave Chelsea a first half lead when he converted an 18th minute penalty but Liverpool came back in the second half as Real Madrid target Raheem Sterling equalized with a beautiful solo goal on 58 minutes to deny the Blues an away win. But despite the result at Anfield the 27-year-old Nigerian believes that Chelsea have all it takes to finish the job at Stamford Bridge in the return leg.
“We were disappointed to concede the goal but we need to make sure we finish it back home,” the Super Eagles star told BBC Sport after the game.
“We didn’t lose and we scored. The away goals count, so we’re still in a good place.”
Chelsea will next be in action at the weekend against Bradford City in the FA Cup before welcoming Liverpool on Tuesday for the second leg of the Capital One Cup semifinal.
