–As Aluko battles against relegation
Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi looks set to return to action for Chelsea this weekend (tomorrow precisely) as the league leaders travel to take on relegation threatened QPR at the 18,360-capacity Loftus Road Stadium.
Mikel is yet to feature for the Stamford Bridge outfit since undergoing a successful minor knee operation on a meniscus in February. He has since recovered and was in full training ahead the Chelsea’s home clash against Stoke last weekend but was not included in the squad due to tiredness. The former Lyn Oslo of Norway star is now primed to make his comeback and coach Jose Mourinho might start him from the bench in the local derby against QPR.
Meanwhile, Mikel’s compatriot at Hull City, Sone Aluko will be available for selection as the Tigers embark on a difficult road trip to Southampton today. Hull are just a step off the drop zone and the Tigers will need all their fighting skills to get a result at the 32,689-capacity St. Mary Stadium to at least retain their current 17th position on the table with 28 points. But having failed to secure a win in their last 5 games, it remains to be seen if Aluko and his teammates will be able to survive the superior firepower of the Saints who are currently 7th on the log with 53 points.
