Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Agu, has joined Portuguese club, Vitoria Setubal on loan from FC Porto for the rest of the season, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.
It is the second time the 25-year-old will be spending time on loan with Vitoria Setubal following a stint with the club in the 2016/2017 season.
The talented midfielder turned down offers from Portuguese and other European clubs to pitch tent with Setubal.
“I had other options in Portugal and abroad but when my manager told me about Victoria’s interest I did not think twice. I already know this city and the club well and it was here that Stefano was born, about a year and eight months ago,” Mikel told the club’s official website.
” I am m happy with my return and I believe that the fans are happy too. The fans know that when I get on the field it’s to give the maximum and I hope to help Vitória to make a great season.”
Mikel joined Portuguese giants FC Porto in 2012 but has struggled to break into the first team at the club.
He spent last season on loan at Turkish club, Bursaspor where he scored three goals in 24 appearances.
