Mikel, Moses Dropped From Chelsea’s Europe Trip

Super Eagles stars; John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses are not among Chelsea players listed for their European trip where they are expected to play some pre-season friendlies.

The duo’s omission is due to their involvement in Nigeria’s 2014 World Cup campaign this summer.

Chelsea’s three marque summer signings Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and Filipe Luis have all been named in the squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Europe.

Youngsters Patrick Bamford, Nathan Ake, Jeremie Boga, Lewis Baker, Nathaniel Chalobah and Izzy Brown have also been named in the 26-man group to travel to Austria.

But Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois, Oscar, Ramires and Andre Schurrle have also all been omitted after their extended World Cup campaigns.

January signing Mohamed Salah has also travelled with the squad after receiving confirmation that he will not have to return to Egypt to do military service.

Chelsea kick off their European tour against Austrian Bundesliga side RZ Pellets before taking on NK Olimpija Ljubljana, Vitesse Arnhem, Werder Bremen, Ferencvaros and Real Sociedad.
