Mikel: Super Eagles Ready To Get Our World Cup Started

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has expressed his love for his teammates on the eve of their opening game against Croatia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Mikel, who will captain a Nigeria team for the second time to a major tournament after the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, adds that the team is ready for the tournament.

Mikel tweeted beneath a team picture on Friday: “Love these boys! Ready to get our #WorldCup started tomorrow! #SoarSuperEagles.”

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be Mikel’s second apprearance at the tournament having missed out on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He was in Brazil four years ago.

Nigeria will face Croatia in their opening Group D game on Saturday evening in Kaliningrad before taking on Iceland in their second game in Volvograd.

Their final group game is against Argentina in Saint Petersburg.
