Mikel: Whether For Club Or Country, Its Always A Pleasure Facing Messi

By Adeboye Amosu:

Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi is looking forward to coming up against Argentina super star Lionel Messi again and hopes his side will emerge winners when they face La Albiceleste in a Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup Group D encounter today (Tuesday) at the Krestovsky Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

Mikel and Messi first crossed each other’s path in the final of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands in 2005 with  the latter going home  the happier after winning the title with Argentina and also scooping the  best player of the tournament honour.

Since then, they have met several times at the international  and club levels with Messi having the upper hand most times.

The duo will rekindle their rivalry today when  Nigeria and Argentina battle for a spot in the knock out stages.

The Super Eagles sit in second position in the group  with three points, while Argentina occupy last position with just one point.

“I’m looking forward to it. It’s always a pleasure playing against Messi. I have played against him so many times, be it national team, be it at club level,” Mikel stated during a short video interview posted on ESPN.

“Once in Chelsea, I managed to come out on top against him. In this tournament, I hope to do that. I hope the team with will come out top against him.”

But on a second thot I have to realized something !
The way the Argentines are talking too from their camp made me understand that they are really scared of this match!!

In the past, they don’t talk like this but after trading comments from ex players condemning the team’s poor performance and from players like Marcehnaro and their coach trying to boast, I have come to the conclusion that they are really scared !!!

Abeg Super Eagles make una beat this team for me !!!

Even if we no score….make them no score too….and I believe the worst that will come out of the Croatia / Iceland match will be a draw….even if Iceland win, Super Eagkes will go thru if they maintain a DRAW becos the head-to-head rule will come to play !!

Chei…I think the destiny of the Super Eagles lies on their own hands !
Beat Argentina or at worst hold them to a Draw … !

God help us today against the “so-called deciders” of this game !
