Castleford’s Grant Millington says his side will take time over the winter looking to find a solution to their big-game hoodoo. The Tigers again wowed Super League audiences in 2018 but, having missed out in the 2017 Grand Final, fell in this year’s semi-finals to eventual champions Wigan.
Failing to produce in a big game is becoming a worrying habit for Daryl Powell’s side and Millington admits they need to take time out to try and find a solution.
“I wouldn’t say we’ve got a problem with big games,” he said. “You look at the Super League semi-final last year, that was a big game and we won that.
“But there’s obviously something there that we’ve got to look at, highlight and work on in the pre-season.
“There’s a little bit there that we will definitely have a look at, but I think it’s nothing that hard work and a bit of experience, which we gained, can’t fix up.”
