  • believe it or not, nigeria will top group A

  • Benue 7 years ago

A draw is not the worst result in the world, but Nigeria’s problems still remain. The Super Eagles continues to play a hustle and bustle style of play unable to create chances against a Mediocre South African team whose Midfield is Marshalled by Dean Furman who plays at Doncaster Rovers(English Division 3).

Nigeria cannot beat any serious team if we continue to play this style of football. The Super Eagles simply did not do anything tangible enough to win this game vs South Africa.

sack keshi his style of technicality is outdated
i foresee darker days ahead of our football if keshi is allow to continue

  • CoalCityStar 7 years ago

Time for a change. Keshi can’t motivate these set of players anymore. He’s simply overachieved and should be allowed to go. Going forward, we need to see the best Nigerian players represent us. Enough of compassion for mediocrity. We need a top ambitious manager and that’s to happen very quick.

@detator, you think sacking coach will solve the problem? Do you expect the coach to go and play the ball for the them. I totally disagree with you that the coach can’t motivate them, the player themselves need to motivate themselves and up their game. This is not how professional players play, even a local base player played better than the European base, shame. Are you guys not watching this game self. Please don’t blame coach here or tactics. Our players are lazy, what do you say about Mikel, worst!

    • detator 7 years ago

@marsh believe keshi style of formation is gradually killing our football in nigeria withing a space of 5 month draw 3 lose 4 and win1 is not a good sign of a bright future with keshi

  • Hmm what else can I say. I didn’t watched the match though. I knew that Eagles can’t go far with Keshi. Have said it all on Kickoffnigeria.com the result is coming out soon. As Africa Champion, 1 point. What a shame? The truth will be known soon. God bless Nigeria!

  • Toppal 7 years ago

@Marsh, who invited the “lazy” players or who gave them jersey to represent Nigeria. Is it not Keshi that invited them or are you saying that Nigeria can no longer produce hungry players. He continues to fight players on the pages of newspapers and cannot produce result on the field of play! What else do you want us to say? When result were going his way he was happy to savour the accolades. Now that it is otherwise, he should be ready to receive the stick.

    • Marsh 7 years ago

@Toppal, this result has been the attitude of super eagles during qualifiers, just go back and check the statistics. As per who invited the players, yes Keshi did but the truth of the matter is that the current set of players are the best at the moment. If he does not invite some of them we will cry. Who are those players Keshi did not invite, i guess you will say Ideye or IK Uche? I could remember when this same Ideye could not person and Nigerians continue to criticize his inclusion and that led the player being drop for the world cup. I know people are clamouring for IK Uche but forgot that same players was part of the team during the AFCON but flopped woefully, he could not score a goal. I here people talk about formation and tactics, i beg this is not watching Television and doing analyses, this is playing soccer, there is no coach that has no formation, if you watch the match yesterday you could see that Nosa was supposed to play behind the strikers to be the link up man but what happened, he (Nosa) could not hold down the ball and turn around. My brother, it was awful, all needed was hold the ball shield it away and take the game opponent half but they could not do it. These guys are European base professionals and they are not supposed to be told on what to do after formation has been given to them. Did you guys saw Echiejile? he was Awful, could not control and connect a pass to Musa, he remained as a standing left back till the end of the game, this is someone that plays for Monaco, i preferred Oshaniwa in that position. Even if Keshi’s contract is not renewed and another coach comes in with this set of players, we will have this same performance, coaches done play football but need players who can deliver their plans on the field of play. We lack such players now, they are not playing for each other. Finally, Mikel over reliance as a holding midfield player will kill the team, he can’t give a good pass and he’s not attacking minded, he loses ball easily.

Keshi keeps bringing in new faces into d team all the time which makes it difficult for d team to blend. Nothing wrong in injecting new players to the squad but it should be to fortify grey areas.
