The Situation:

The Dream Team VI need a victory or a draw against Algeria to qualify for the semi-finals. However they can still make it even with a loss IF Mali defeat or draw against Egypt.


Algeria and Nigeria qualify. Egypt vs Mali ends 1-0 in favour of the Malians. Algeria will play South Africa. Nigeria will play host Senegal in the semi finals.

90" Substitution Junior Ajayi out, Victor Osime In. Fulltime the game ends goalless.

90" 3 minutes added on. Plenty of time for either side to score. Seth Sincere brought down. Freekick to Nigeria. Corner conceded by the Algerians. The Algerians on a counter but the attacks fizzles out with no results.

88" Corner to Algeria, header caught by the keeper Daniel.

86" Algerian Substitution; Oussama  Darfalou out, Saleh in.

82" Taiwo Awoniyi fouled. Azubike Okechukwu given a yellow card for a foul. That is the first card he's had. The Nigerian fans are jubilant despite the game heading towards the end without a goal scored by the Dream team VI.

80" Oghenekaro's shoots, tipped over by the keeper for a corner. Referee gives Algeria a freekick.

78" Free kick to Algeria, Usman  Mohammed raises his boot too high.

76" Nigeria tries to penetrate the Algerian defence but the Algerian defence clears Etebo's cutback.

71" Tiogoli brought down in the Nigerian box but the referee waves play on. Mali still leading by 1 goal. As it stands Nigeria and Algeria go through to the semi finals.

Possession; Algerian 47, Nigeria 53.

67" Taiwo Awoniyi flagged offside after chasing a long ball.

65" Freekick saved by the Algerian Keeper. Algeria on the attack. The Nigerian defender Segun Oduduwa miscues but the Nigerians take possession of the ball.

62" Amefule brought down. Freekick taken. The Nigerians lose possession and the Algerian team counter attack but its closed down quickly by the Nigerian defence. Show of support from the Nigerian fans who are anxiously awaiting a goal.

60" Algeria retake a freekick. Another Nigerian change; Kufre Ebon out, Taiwo Awoniyi in.

55" Free kick to Algeria. Closed down by the Nigerian defence. The Eagles are not keeping the ball too well.

54" Nigerian Substitution; Godspower out, Tombara Tiogoli in.

51" Nigeria's Captain Azubike Okechukwo commits a foul free kick to Algeria. Saved by Nigerian keeper Daniel.

49" Nigeria's keeper Emmanuel Daniel makes a reflex save with his feet.

46" Free kick to Nigeria. Godspower fouled. Free kick creates a chance but Algeria's keeper Salhi plucks the ball in the air.

45" Second half begins. Nigeria kicks off.

The Algerian team are entirely made up of home based players. Meanwhile the players are back on the field. At Mbour it is still Mali 1 Egypt 0. 

45" 1 minute added on and no goal from either sides yet. Halftime. The Eagles form a huddle.

43" Corner to Algeria, Chizoba Amaefule concedes it. Corner taken but its harmless. Goal kick.

42" Algerian fans seem to be in high spirits despite the game being goalless.

40" Algeria's Captain Keniche fouled. He receives medical attention. Freekick taken by Algeria. offside.

37" Algeria on the attack but the Eagles defence is up the job. They bring down Algeria keyman Ferhat.

34" Two players clash in the air but the freekick is awarded to the Algerians.

31" Ajayi fouled. Freekick to Nigeria. Mali leading by a goal. Otebo standing behind the ball. He curls the ball beyond the wall but the Algerian keeper scrambles out a save .

Nigeria trying long passes to try and enter Algeria's defence.

28" Thrown in by Algeria. Corner given to the Algerians. Taken but booted out by Oghenekaro Etebo.

26" Algerias Draoui sandwiched by two Nigerian defenders. The north africans take the freekick but the ball was lost by Arfalou.

24" Algeria's Gerhat scores a freekick but it cancelled because of an offside.

23" Nigeria fans on the stand are anxiously waiting for a goal from the Eagles. Segun Oduduwa concedes a throw-in.

22" Foul by Nigeria.

21" Kufre Nigeria's forward brought down in the Algerian box but the ref waves play on.

19" Corner to Algeria. Ndifreke tries to hold on to the ball but he loses it over the line. Corner taken, no results.

17" Algeria's Ferhat fouled. Algeria freekick taken but Eagles keeper Daniel saves.

16" Ndifreke Nigeria's left back loses possession but the Eagles get the ball back.

14" Usman Mohammed goes to ground from a challenge by an algerian midfielder. Freekick to Nigeria.

12" Corner to Nigeria, A dipping shot knocked over the bar by the keeper.

11" Free kick to Algeria. Nigeria's Godspower committing the foul

8" Throw in to Nigeria but they lose possession of the ball.

6" Freekick to Algeria. Ajayi the culprit.

Throw in to Algeria. Junior Ajayi conceding it.

Algeria kick off and threaten.
