Mixed Blessings For Ogunbote, Dokubo in New Jobs

By Adeboye Amosu:
Gbenga Ogunbote enjoyed a dream start to his reign as head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan with his charges securing a morale-boosting 3-0 win against Lobi stars.

The erstwhile Sunshine Stars of Akure gaffer joined the former league winners last week after ending his stay with Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt.

Two goals from U-23 Eagles star Junior Ajayi and Ajani Ibrahim who played under him at Sunshine helped his side beat the Makurdi based outfit.

A visibly delighted Ogunbote told Completesportsnigeria.com that he was happy with not only the win but the impressive showing of his players.

“I’m happy to start on a winning note, and I want to commend the players for a job well done, Ogunbote remarked.

“It’s not time to celebrate yet as we still have a long way to go, but this result will surely put us in good stead for the task ahead,” he declared.

His Sharks counterpart, Daboere Dokubo also had fair start as his side were forced to a 1-1 draw away to local rivals Dolphins at the Liberation Stadium Port Harcourt.

It was however a different story for new Rangers helmsman, Imama Amamakapo as his team Rangers International of Enugu lost 3-1 to their hosts, Kwara United.
