Nigeria’s first opponents at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Croatia, have officially unveiled the their home and away kits for the tournament, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The kit designed by Nike, who also designed Nigeria’s World Cup jerseys, has Croatia’s trademark red-and-white checkers for the home kit while the away jersey has the same pattern but in navy blue and black.
According to the Croatian Federation website, the team will launch the jersey for the first time against Peru in their international friendly on Friday in Miami.
Croatia captain and Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, who modelled the new jersey with Juventus striker Mario Manzukic, expressed his delight at the new kit launched.
“Every Croatia player is proud to wear one of the most beautiful and most iconic jerseys in the world,” Modric told the Croatia FA website on Wednesday.
“I love the supersize red-and-white squares because they reflect both our high ambitions and the great potential of the team.
“This will be my first time captaining the Croatian national team at the World Cup, and this jersey will always be an especially meaningful one for me.”
