Francesco Molinari has set his sights on the world number one spot and Olympic Gold after picking up his latest award. Molinari has had a stunning 2018, which included wins at the Open Championship and Ryder Cup, and was last week named the European Tour Player of the Year.
Now Molinari has been recognised in his home country of Italy after landing the prestigious Collari d’Oro (Golden Collar) award in Rome on Wednesday night.

The Collari d’Oro is the highest honour in Italian sport, and Molinari is the first Italian golfer to win it.
Speaking after receiving the coveted award, Molinari revealed his goals for the future and the world number one spot along with gold at the 2020 Olympics are at the top of his list.
