Borussia Monchengladbach have been hit by the news both Raffael and Lars Stindl could be facing spells on the sidelines through injury.
The duo picked up the injuries during the goalless draw against Hoffenheim with Raffael’s being the more serious, but there is a chance Stindl could be back in action tomorrow if scans show no damage.
The club issued the following statement: “Raffael has broken his collarbone after a collision with Hoffenheim’s Joelinton. “The Brazilian travelled back to Monchengladbach with the squad but stayed overnight in Kraichgau with club doctor Ralf Doyscher and will be operated on today. “Captain Lars Stindl was forced off in the 63rd minute.
A scan earlier today revealed that Stindl has sustained an MCL and capsular injury to his left ankle. “A decision will be made tomorrow whether Stindl is able to feature against 1. FC Nürnberg on Tuesday.”
