Gary Moore is hoping that Frodon races in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup at Cheltenham to boost Baron Alco’s bid for Cheltenham success.
The West Sussex trainer is aware that Frodon tops the weights for the race with his own charge Baron Alco on 12lb less in the handicap.

But, if Frodon’s trainer Paul Nicholls decides against pitching in the six-year-old, that would push up the weights and make Baron Alco’s bid to add to last month’s BetVictor Gold Cup win at Prestbury Park all the more difficult.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s race, Moore, who watched Baron Alco defeat Frodon by two lengths to win November’s meeting, told At The Races: “I was quite pleased when I saw Frodon didn’t go for the Peterborough Chase so I hope he runs.
“I’m not saying we’re going to beat him again, but at least he’ll keep the weights down for us. “Baron Alco ran Charbel to a head first time out this year, so he isn’t a bad horse. OK, he was getting a fair bit of weight but it was his first run after 570 days or so off so fair play to him.”
