Claude Puel says Wes Morgan’s intensity in training keeps him at the head of the queue to partner Harry Maguire in Leicester’s defence. The future of the Foxes captain was thrown into doubt last season following Puel’s arrival at the King Power Stadium, with the Frenchman questioning whether or not some of the club’s Premier League title winners still in the squad were living off past achievements.
The arrivals of three centre-halves – Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu and Filip Benkovic – during the summer transfer window further muddied the waters regarding Morgan’s status in Puel’s team.

However, the 34-year-old, who falls out of contract at the end of the season, has responded positively to the challenge laid down by Puel, starting seven games for Leicester this season.
Puel has now revealed why Morgan continues to be his preferred choice to play alongside Maguire at the heart of his defence, claiming he has shown the necessary desire to keep his spot.
“For Wes, the intensity of his training sessions is better than last season, it’s a challenge for him,” Puel told the Leicester Mercury.
“We have competition in the team around him and he is a competitive player, but it’s a good thing to maintain that competition among themselves and to give us good options.
“It is important to have good options for the future. I’m happy for Wes because he works a lot. Wes has the experience and he knows himself very well – he can make a difference.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
