The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FMFR) have backed Cameroon to host a successful 2019 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON).
There were reports last year that Morocco could replace Cameroon as hosts of the 2019 AFCON following doubts over the Central African country’s ability to go on with hosting the tournament.
But according to cafonline.com, at the African symposium on women’s football in Marrakech, Morocco on Tuesday, during a joint press briefing between President of FMFR Fouzi Lekjaa and Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) Me Dieudonné Happi, the issue was eventually clarified.
“The Royal Moroccan Federation is alongside the Cameroon Football Federation to make CAN 2019 a success,” Lekjaa said. “No more rumours! We are all together in the service of African football. The relations between King Mohamed VI and President Paul Biya are above football manifestations.
“CAN 2019 will once again be a space for the demonstration of fraternal and deep relations between Morocco and Cameroon, between the Moroccan Federation and the Cameroonian Federation.
“I told the president of the standardization committee of FECAFOOT to choose the lines of partnership. We are, today, alongside Cameroon to put at our disposal all our devices, to make this CAN to 24 teams, a great celebration of African football.”
Happi said: ” It puts an end to all the rumours. The Kingdom of Morocco and its Football Federation have just demonstrated the African brotherhood, a beautiful lesson that must be the foundation of our common life.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
