Super Eagles of Nigeria and West Ham’s on-loan winger Victor Moses has been revealed to be the fifth fastest Premier League player so far this season, according to reports in the English media on Friday night.
The EA SPORTS Player Performance Index confirms that Moses – who is currently on a season-long loan move at the Boleyn Ground from champions Chelsea – is the fifth fastest player in the English top flight this term with a top speed of 35km/h.
Moses’ teammate at West Ham, Carl Jenkinson, comes in at eighth place with a top speed of 34.89km/h – with no other players from any of the London clubs featuring in the top 10.
Leicester City dominate the list as 50% of the 10 fastest players in the Premier League play for the Foxes – with top spot going to the club’s striker Jamie Vardy.
The forward has hit a top speed of 35.44km/h this season, which beats his Leicester teammate Jeffrey Schlupp by 0.18km/h.
Moses took precautionary step against aggravating his injury worries and avoided Nigeria’s friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon last week.
Other Leicester players to make the list are fourth-placed Marc Albrighton (35km/h), sixth-placed Ritchie de Laet (34.97km/h) and 10th-placed Wes Morgan (34.76km/h).
The appearance of De Laet and Morgan alongside Sunderland’s Billy Jones (third), West Ham’s Jenkinson and Bournemouth’s Charlie Daniels (ninth) mean that half of the 10 fastest players in the league are defenders.
The only other forward to make the list with Vardy is Stoke City’s Mame Biram Diouf, who has reached a top speed of 34.97km/h this term (seventh place).
