Moses (injury) Mikel Obi (injury) and Odion Ighalo (not invited) missed the Eagles last game against South Africa which they lost 2-0 in Uyo in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier but they have all returned for the Cameroon fixtures.

In third was Ighalo who got only six per cent.

The Eagles top 2018 World Cup African qualifying Group B on six points, four points ahead of Cameroon who have two points.

Nigeria need to use the surprise element against Cameroon. Cameroon are already prepared to mark out Kelechi Ihenacho, therefore I suggest suprise

No1. Ihenacho should not top strike, he can play as second striker. This will upset the plans of Cameroonian
Suprise No2. Nigeria should play a game of two half’s of two strikers. Ighalo has not really done well with super eagles but he should play first half while Nwakeme should play second half. That will also upset the Cameroonians
Suprise No3. Ndidi-Mikel/Etebo-Ihenacho in the midfield. This will make the midfield more compact against the Cameroonians.

I disagree with Paul’s comment that Iheanacho should play midfield role because he cannot man-mark. It will also amount to waste of resources as he is better within the opponent’s 18 yard mark. The coach should deploy the personnel he used against Algeria perhaps with little modification considering the fact that Cameroonians are very physical. Basaggog, the Cameroonian attacker is very fast and strong so a equally fast and strong midfielder or defender should be made to mark him.
