Super Eagles star Victor Moses will play his fourth FA Cup game against Manchester united if he gets to make his 23rd succesive start on Monday night when Chelsea host the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge in the last quater-final fixture of the competition, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Interestingly, the Nigerian first featured against United in the competition while playing for Chelsea in the 2012/2013 season. In the replay at the Bridge, Demba Ba’s 49th minute strike was all Chelsea needed to advance to the final with Moses coming on as an 89th
minute substitute for the goalscorer.
The Nigerian was however on the losing end last season. This time he was on his third loan at West Ham and came in as a 62nd minute substitute for Ener Valencia as the Hammers crashed 2-1 at home to United.
Moses has played only once in the FA Cup this term and this was in the 2-0 fifth round win against Wolves at the Molineux and will make his 23rd FA Cup appearance if he plays tonight.
He has scored five times in 22 games in the competition with two of the goals coming in his first spell at Stamford Bridge in the 2012/2013 season. His first goal came on January 5, 2013 when he scored the second goal in a 5-1 demolition of Southampton at Saint Mary’s. The second came on February 27 of the same year, scoring the second goal (73rd minute) in a 2-0 defeat of Middlesbrough at the Riverside stadium after Fernando Torres had given Chelsea the lead.
