Everton continued their impressive run under new manager Sam Allardyce as they held dominant Chelsea to a 0-0 at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
Everton are now unbeaten in six matches under Allardyce, winning four and drawing two.
Super Eagles forward Victor Moses was in action and impressed before coming off for Davide Zappacosta.
The draw saw Chelsea maintain their third position on 39 points while Everton are ninth on 26 points.
Chelsea had the first attempt of the game but Moses’ dangerous cross evaded his teammates.
In the sixth minute, Everton had a chance of their own through Gylfi Sigurdsson whose goal-bound shot was blocked by Cesar Azpilicuerta.
In the 20th minute, Moses whipped in another dangerous ball across the Everton goal but no Chelsea player was close enough to connect.
Everton went close to scoring in the 32nd minute following a misplaced pass from Chelsea but Tom Davies’ low shot close to the edge of the Chelsea box went just wide.
From the restart, Chelsea went close but Eden Hazard’s shot was well saved by Jordan Pickford while Willian’s follow-up was blocked.
Moments later Pickford once again denied Hazard who hit a fierce drive, before the Everton keeper also punched away Moses’ cross.
In the 72nd minute Ashley Williams almost turned Moses’ cross into his own goal but the ball came off the bar and away from danger.
With less than 10 minutes remaining, Cesc Fabregas hit low strike from the edge of the box which took a slight deflection and rolled away for a corner.
Chelsea continued to pile the pressure but were unlucky as Hazard’s shot took a deflection before Pickford claimed the rebound.
