Lucas Moura insists there is enough strength and quality in the Tottenham squad to mount a serious push for the Premier League title. Spurs fell well short as Manchester City romped to glory last season and Mauricio Pochettino failed to strengthen his squad in the summer as no new signings were made.
Couple with the fact Spurs could be unsettled by their protracted move to the new stadium, many have suggested it could be a tough campaign for the club.
However they have started well with wins over Newcastle and Fulham, and Moura has high hopes for the season ahead.
“I believe so,” Moura said when asked if Spurs are title contenders. “We are a very strong team. In the last two seasons we were always in the first places, qualifying for the Champions League.
“I think the important thing is that nobody left. I think we still have a very strong team, well intertwined, that’s very important, too. We have full conditions to fight at the top of the table.”
