Mourinho Blasts British Media, Happy With Chelsea Progress

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has hit out at the Britisb media, vowing not to be giving any more funny headlines or interesting quotes during future press conferences.

Mourinho launched into the attack on the press when he was asked to comment on the visit of the South African rugby team to Chelsea’s Cobham training complex.

He was speaking during Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s game against West Ham.

His comment may not be unconnected with reports that he shoved a young boy who tried to take a selfie of him in the streets.

“You are not going to get any funny headlines out of me,” Mourinho said. “I treat you the way your bosses treat me: no respect. No respect. I am not speaking about football. Football I will expect every type of critic, even the stupid ones.

“But private life and stupid things that you bring to the light….. I don’t like it, so we go to a different level of professional relations.”

And when asked if Eden Hazard will start against West Ham, after he came off the bench against Aston Villa, Mourinho said:

“I don’t know, I don’t have to answer you. Lots of people with an opinion have been speaking about him I prefer not to individualize. I am happy with his contribution against Dynamo and that’s it.”

Mourinho, however, says he has seen an improvement from his players in the last two games.

“The victory against Aston Villa was a very good result an the draw against Dynamo was a positive result,” he says.

“We could feel some individual performances. One example: Matic went from being on the bench against Villa to being man of the match for UEFA three days later.

“But other players also improve.”
