Mourinho: Chelsea Are Not Invincible!

–Mourinho plays down chances of the Blues winning the EPL title unbeaten

Jose Mourinho does not expect his Chelsea players to replicate Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’, despite the Blues having dropped only two league points so far this season.

The 2003/04 Arsenal squad won 26 and drew 12 of their 38 league matches, winning the title by 11 points from a Chelsea team that reacted by replacing Claudio Ranieri with Mourinho.

The Gunners’s feat was only the second time in English football history that a team has gone through a league season undefeated after Preston North End did so in 1888/89.

And the Portuguese manager, now in his second spell at Stamford Bridge, does not think that it will be repeated.

“It is something that happens once in a life,” Mourinho said. “In modern football, with the competitiveness of the Premier League, I don’t see one team is going to be champions without defeat. In my opinion, it was the first… the second and the last time.”
