Mourinho Faces FA Investigation Over Touchline Comment After United Vs Newcastle

The English FA are to investigate comments made by Jose Mourinho on the touchline after Manchester United’s clash with Newcastle United at the Old Trafford last Saturday.

Sky Sports reports that the incident took place following United’s 3-2 win at Old Trafford. And the FA is not letting the matter go unscrutinized.

United trailed 2-0 at half-time on Saturday evening with the sack seemingly looming for boss Mourinho.

But goals from Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez completed a dramatic turnaround for Mourinho’s men as they emerged victorious.

As yet, it is unclear exactly what Mourinho said but he did make a comment towards the cameras as he made his way down the tunnel at full-time.

There is speculation that Mourinho made an offensive slur in Portuguese before making a salute with his little finger. Now the FA will judge.

Speaking after the clash, the United boss said: “I am 55 years old. It is the first time I see man-hunting. I can cope with it. I can live with it.

“Some of the boys, in spite of them not being the man that is hunted, they are not coping well with it.

“The way we started game they were panicking. Every ball into the box, even in some moments I thought we could score in our own goal.”

United are back in action after the international break against Mourinho’s former club, Chelsea.
