Mourinho Set For £30m Chelsea Pay-Off

Jose Mourinho could be paid off with as much as £30 million if Chelsea sack him, the Mirror has reported.

The club passed a vote of confidence on the underfire coach on Monday after his outburst on Saturday which followed a humbling 3-1 home defeat to Southampton, the champions’ fourth Premier League defeat in only eight games.

But if the alarming slump continues, Chelsea are likely to sack Mourinho a second time and pay heavily for the sacking.

Mourinho signed a lucrative new deal worth around £8.5million-a-year two months ago after winning the title in May and the Capital One Cup three months earlier.

The deal was intended to tie the 52-year-old to the club until 2019 and Chelsea remain hopeful that he will lead them out of their slump and build a dynasty.

Last Saturday’s shock defeat at home to Southampton, however, has left the club in 16th place and they face the real possibility of not making it to the Champions League.

Should Chelsea lose at home to Aston Villa after the international break the club could yet revisit Mourinho’s position.

No team in Premier League history has ever made it into the top four after picking up just eight points, as Chelsea have, from their first eight games.

It is most painful to see a master game planner as reliable as mourinho in this present status of his carrier…sacking him however should not be an option…as getting a better replacement may not be an easy task…and it may only lead the club towards future Disaster.

  • One day the bubbles will burst and so the tricks of Mourinho has been exposed. His doings and sayings of recent is of a man who wants to be sacked. Sacked and he will go home with millions. Resign and there will be no million and he has said it, he will never resign. Not anymore. Mourinho’s success has being on the back of a strong financial support from Abranovich. He will run out his contract but with no support this time. I predicted his January sacking but I rethink. It will be interesting to see how Mourinho can fight his way back. Who will blink first- Mourinho or Abranovich/Chelsea. As of my prediction that Chelsea will finish 10th still stands. Wayo man die, wayo man bury am.

  • Mourinho should endure to face his bruhaha. I pray they should not sack him, so that we can see which
position they will end up at the end of the season as he is still boasting that they will qualify for champions
    league position.
