Barcelona is reportedly close to agreeing on a deal with Valencia to sign Colombia international defender Jeison Murillo on loan.
Reports in Catalonia are suggesting that Barca are on the lookout for a short-term solution to their current defensive problems, with centre-backs Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen currently sidelined through injury.

The Blaugrana’s first-choice signing appears to be Ajax starlet Matthjis de Ligt, but the club does not feel a deal will be feasible in January, so they are instead turning their attention to a short-term fix.
Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is one of the names that have been linked with a move to the Camp Nou, as have experienced duo Branislav Ivanovic and Martin Skrtel, although it appears former Inter Milan star Murillo is their primary target.
The 26-year-old is perhaps a surprise choice, as he has started just one La Liga match this season due to a number of injury issues, but he is believed to match Barca’s criteria for a short-term solution, as he is right footed and holds an EU passport.
