Former Cardiff striker Nathan Blake believes Josh Murphy will end up playing through the middle for the Bluebirds this season. The winger joined Cardiff this summer on a four-year contract for a fee understood to be in the region of £11million after impressing last season at Norwich.
Murphy looked good when he made his competitive debut from the bench on Saturday, although the Bluebirds fell to a 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
Blake, who made over 100 appearances for Cardiff between 1990 and 1994, feels the new signing can have a big impact this term, but feels he may be better suited to a role through the middle.
“I also believe Josh Murphy, a surprise omission from the side, has the attributes required to be Cardiff’s centre-forward this season and I predict that’s where he will end up,” Blake said in Wales Online column.
“Murphy is quick, has great strength, is a good finisher with either foot and can score goals.
“He can play with his back to goal, drift wide, worry defenders with his speed and direct running.
“Murphy has to play. Up front might be a real option.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
