Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, has expressed his disappointment that Moses Simon won’t be part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup due to a thigh injury, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Simon was finally dropped from Nigeria’s World Cup-bound squad after a second scan in London on Thursday revealed that he will be out of action for three to four weeks
The Leicester City forward admits that the 22 year old will be sorely missed by the team in Russia.
“Disappointed that Simon won’t be with the team in Russia 🇷🇺, we are proud of you, be strong and think positive,” Musa tweeted via his Twitter handle.
“We will miss you only for a while as u’ll come back stronger🙏🙏 @Simon27Moses.”
The Gent star was dropped along with Stephen Eze, Dele Ajiboye, Uche Agbo and Junior Lokosa.
Two more players will be dropped from the game before they travel to Austria for their final pre-World Cup game against Czech Republic next Wednesday.
Nigeria will face Croatia in their first Group D game on June 16 before tackling Iceland on June 22 and Argentina in their last game on June 26.
