Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, was in action for CSKA Moscow as they pipped visiting Anzhi Makhackala, who also paraded Lukman Haruna, 1-0 in the Russian league on Saturday.
Defender Leon Balogun scored for Mainz in a friendly.
Both Musa and Haruna played 90 minutes for their respective clubs.
Also in Russia, the duo of Fegor Ogude and Izunna Ugochukwu were on duty for Amkar Perm who beat Krylva Sovetov 1-0.
Ogude played for 90 minutes but Ugochukwu was replaced by Georgi Peev on 57 minutes.
In Scotland, champions Celtic kicked off the new season on a winning note following their 2-0 win against Ross County at Celtic Park.
Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose, was on throughout the encounter.
Leigh Grifiths (fourth mins) and Stefan Johansen (35th minute) were the scorers for Celtic.
In the Belgian Jupiler league, Joseph Akpala was an unused substitute for Oostende as they beat Westerlo 2-1 with Knowledge and Jordan Lukaku scoring for Oostende while Frederic Gounongbe grabbed a consolation for the visitors.
And in some of the pre-season games involving Nigerian players, Balogun scored for Mainz 05 but it wasn’t enough as two late goals from Matt Derbyshire and Jordan Bowery gave Rotherdam a 2-1 win.
Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, was selected for Lille by Herve Renard in their 1-1 draw against Sporting Braga.
