Stand-in captain Ahmed Musa has said that Super Eagles will dedicate a win against Tanzania to team captain Vincent Enyeama, who recently lost his mother.
Musa who was handed the captain’s arm band following the withdrawal of Enyeama and the dropping of Mikel Obi, told completesportsnigeria.com that Enyeama remains the captain of the team and the he is only holding the fort for the Lille star.
“Enyeama is still the captain until when he decides to quit or retire from the game,” Musa told completesportsnigeria.com in Abuja before the team departed for Tanzania.
“He is a player I respect so much and I am only covering up for hIm in Tanzania and I will gladly hand over to him when he returns for the next game.
“We condole with him and we owe him the honour to win in Tanzania. We shall fight with all our might and ensure that we get a result in Dar Es Salam.”
Asked how he felt leading the Super Eagles to Tanzania Musa stated that he cannot just express his joy at being given the opportunity to captain the Eagles.
“My joy will be complete when we win in Tanzania,” the CSKA Moscow star added.
