–Mikel, Obasi play as sub; Ighalo scores first Championship goal of the season
Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa played all 90 minutes for CSKA Moscow who slumped to a 1-0 loss at home to Bayern Munich in an empty stadium on Tuesday in the Champions League. It was his second start in the competition.
Thomas Muller scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, after Mario Goetze was fouled by CSKA’s Mario Fernandes as he dribbled into the box.
In Lisbon, John Obi Mikel played the last 20 minutes of Chelsea’s 1-0 win away to Sporting CP. The Nigerian international replaced oscar in the 71st minute of the nervy encounter.
In Germany,Chinedu Obasi replaced Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 66th minute of Schalke’s 1-1 draw at home to NK Maribor at the Veltins Arena. It was Obasi’s second appearance in the competition with his first coming against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
In England, Odion Ighalo scored his first goal of the Championship season for Watford who beat Brentford 2-1. The on loan Udinese forward pounced quickly to bury the ball after his spot kick was beaten away. It was his sixth appearance for Watford in the Skybet Championship.
Kenneth Omeruo was left out of the squad that forced Blackpool to a 1-1 draw at the Riverside. Omeruo has made eight appearances for Aitor Karanka’s side.
