–Enyeama keeps fourth clean sheet of the season, Ike Uche returns: Ideye,Onazi, Oboabona benched
John Mikel Obi (Chelsea): Nigerian midfielder John Mikel Obi replaced Willan in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester City. Mikel who has made three substitute appearance for the Blues this season was rated 6/10 in the encounter.
Victor Moses, Osaze Odemwingie (Stoke City): Nigeria international Victor Moses played for 79 minutes for Stoke City as they were forced to a 2-2 draw by host Queens Park Rangers in an EPL game on Saturday. The former Wigan and Crystal Palace star was involved in Potter’s two goals, when his lofted cross was headed down by Crouch, who held off former England team-mate Rio Ferdinand, and Diouf nodded it past Robert Green for the first goal. Moses was substituted in the 79th minute with Arnautovic. Odemwingie is still out injured.
Brown Ideye, Victor Anichebe (Westbrom): Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe was handed a cameo appearance for Westbrom who pipped Tottenham Hotspur by a lone goal at White Hart Lane on Sunday while record signing Brown Ideye was benched for the entire duration of the win. Ideye has played three games.
Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough): Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo played all 90 minutes for Middlesbrough who thrashes Brentford 4-0 at the Riverside. He has played four games so far this season.
Odion Ighalo (Watford): Former Olympic international Odion Ighalo played for 27 minutes in Watford’s 1-1 late equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth. It was his fifth appearance in the championship as a substitute.
Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio): Nigerian midfielder Ogenyi Onazi benched for 90 minutes in Lazio’ away to Genoa on Sunday. Onazi who has reportedly signed a contract extension at the club at the weekend is yet to feature for the Biancocoleste in the Serie A this season.
Nnamdi Oduamadi (Crotone): Nigerian winger Nnamdi Oduamadi came off the substitute’s bench in the 69th minute to score his first Serie B goal of the season for Crotone who defeated Bologna 2-0 to earn their first win of the season. The 23 year old took out two defenders before blasting home from close range in his second appearance for the club.They face Catania on Tuesday in their next game.
Vincent Enyeama (Lille): Nigerian stand in skipper Vincent Enyeama kept his fourth clean sheet of the season in goal for Lille who earned a share of the spoil at home to
Montpellier on Sunday. It was his sixth start for Lille this season.
Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco): Nigerian defender Elderson Echiejile missed his side’s lone goal victory against Guingamp. The Nigerian left back who is available for selection for Wednesday game against Montpellier has played once this season.
Chinedu Obasi (Schalke 04): Super Eagles winger Chinedu Obasi played the last eight minutes of Schalke’s 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga on Saturday. It was his first start of the Bundesliga campaign.
Anthony Ujah (Cologne): Nigerian striker Anthony Ujah played for 75 minutes before been hurled off in Cologne’s derby at home to Borussia Monchengladbach. Ujah has scored once in three Bundesliga games. He was replaced by Simon Zoller.
Efe Ambrose (Celtic): Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose played all 90 minutes for Celtic who forced Motherwell to a 1-1 draw. It was his sixth start of the SPL.
Austin Ejide,John Ogu (Hapeol Be’er Sheva):Nigeria international John Ogu was on the winning side as his club, also featuring compatriot Austin Ejide, in goal beat Hapoel Petah Tikva 3-1 away from home. It was the second appearance for both players at the club this season. Ejide has however conceded two goals in two games.
Olanrewaju Kayode (Maccabi Netanya): Ex-Nigeria U20 star striker Olanrewaju Kayode scored a brace to earn his Israeli club Maccabi Netanya a point in a 4-4 draw with Maccabi Petah Tikva. The former ASEC Mimosas of Abidjan striker opened the scoring in the 15th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead.Kayode then scored what looked to have sealed victory for his side in the 64th minute as Maccabi Netanya led 4-2, only for them to concede two goals later and drop two valuable points.
Shola Ameobi (Gaziantep BB): Nigeria international striker Shola Ameobi scored his first goal for his Turkish second division team Gaziantep BB in Friday’s 1-1 draw against Adanaspor.
Gaziantep BB are now 11th on an 18-team league table with three points from as many games.The former Newcastle United striker debuted against Kayserispor last week.
Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor): Nigerian defender Godfrey Oboabona was an unused substitute for Rizespor who lost 2-0 away to Mersin İdmanyurdu on Sunday. He is yet to feature this season.
Nurudeen Orelesi (Metalurh Zaporizhya):Former Olympic international Nurudeen Orelesi played his second game for Metalurh Zaporizhya who lost 3-0 at home to Vorskla.
Ikenne King (Honved Budapest): Nigerian defender Ikenne King played for 67 minutes for Honved who beat lost 2-1 away to Diósgyőr on Sunday. It was his sixth start of the season. Honved are currently eight on the log.
Bartholomew Ogbeche (Cambuur): Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche played for 63 minutes in Cambuur’s 4-0 loss away to PSV at the Philips Stadium on Sunday.
Ogbeche who has scored twice this season has made six Eredivise appearances this season.
Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow): Super Eagles winger Ahmed Musa continued his impressive goalscoring form for CSKA Moscow when he scored his side’s only goal in the as
they defeated Lokomotiv Moscow. The Nigerian international who was on target in his side’s mauling in the Champions League against Roma has scored three goals in eight appearances.
Ikechukwu Uche (Villareal): Nigerian striker returned to Villareal’s starting line up after recovering fully from knock that saw him replaced three minutes after notching the equaliser in Thursday’s Europa League clash away to Borussia Monchengladbach at the Borussia Park. The former Getafe forward was replaced in the 74th minute by Gerard Moreno as the Yellow Submarines fought back to win 4-2.
Ramon Azeez (Almeria): Nigerian midfielder, Ramon Azeez played his first game of the season for Almeria who picked up their first win of the new season by beating Real Sociedad at the Estadio Anoeta for the first time in their history.
Ayodele Adeleye (OFI): Nigerian defender Ayodele Adeleye was on for 90 minute as his side OFI defeated visiting Atromitos. The game was Adeleye’s fourth game of the season.
Uche Nwofor (Lierse): Super Eagles forward Uche Nwofor was not dressed for Lierse who got thrashed 6-1 by Westerlo. The Brazil 2014 World Cup player is yet to feature for the Jupiler team sinec joining the club.
Daniel Chima (Molde): Nigerian player Daniel Chima saw action for 90 minute and scored in the 22nd minute as his team beat home side Valerenga 2-0. Chima who has featured 23 times this season has scored nine goals.
Seyi Olofinjana, Solomon Owello (IK Start), Osita Chikere (Viking): Former Super Eagles midefielder Seyi Olofinjana came off the bench for Kristoffer Ajer in the 83rd minute as Ik Start defeated Viking at home. The game was Olofinjana’s sixth of the current campaign. His Nigerian team-mate and former Flying Eagles player Solomon Owello also replaced Ernest Asante in the 89th minute for his 24th appearance. Their Nigerian counterpart Osita Chikere was on the bench until he replaced Martin Hummervoll in the 72nd minute of the encounter. He has scored one goal this season.
