In Group F, Borussia Dortmund pummelled Legia Warszawa 6-0 to top the group after reigning champions Real Madrid laboured to a 2-1 win at home to Sporting CP. Substitute Alvara Morata came off the substitute’s bench to seal the win for Real after Ronaldo’s strike had restored parity for his side. Bruno Cesar’s goal handed the visitors the lead in the first half.
In Group H, Italian champions Juventus played out a goalless draw at home to Sevilla in Turin while Olympique Lyonnais spanked Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 to lead the group after the first round of matches.
