–CSKA Manager says Nigeria winger finally fufilling his potential
CSKA Moscow coach, Leonid Slutsky, believes Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa is finally showing why they bought him in 2011.
Musa joined the Russian champions from Dutch relegation battlers VVV Venlo in 2011.
The 22-year-old brace’s for Nigeria was followed up by another brace for CSKA four days later, before providing an assist for Seydou Doumbia to level things against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.
And the CSKA boss believes that Musa can only get better as the season progresses.
“He came to us as a talented 19 year old from the Dutch league,it took him time but he is at the right age to excel now, ” he told the Russian media.
“He is finally fulfilling the potential that made the club spend that much on him, at age 22 he has now added consistency to his game and he can only get better.”
The former Kano Pillars goal king arrived the Russian capital for €5M and in his four years with the team he has won back to back league title in addition to lifting the Russian cup last year.
His medal haul in Russia also include lifting the Russia Super Cup twice, so far he has played down reports linking him with a move to premiership giant Tottenham Hotspurs.
