Italian club Napoli have announced the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager following the exit of former manager Maurizio Sarri.
Ancelotti who once managed Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain penned a three-year deal with the club.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis thanked Sarri for his time at the club.
“I thank Maurizio Sarri for his precious dedication to Calcio Napoli that allowed us to give the city and all Azzurri fans over the world prestige and emotions, creating a style of football admired everywhere and by everyone. Bravo Maurizio,” De Laurentiis stated via a statement on Napoli’s website.
Sarri has been linked with a move to Chelsea who are expected to fire Antonio Conte despite the Italian leading the Blues to win the FA Cup on Saturday.
Sarri’s expansive style of football could appeal to Roman Abramovich, who has long pursued a brand of football to charm the global game.
