Nasarawa United  To‎ Unveil New Squad Today

By Sab Osuji:

Nasarawa United, a Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, side have revealed they will announce their new squad for the second stanza of the 2015/2016 season today -Thursday, June 2, 2016, reports.

Solomon Babanja, Team Manager of the Solid Miners, as Nasarawa United are called, said the club had listed several players on the transfer market.

They have also held talks with some players who they intend signing to bolster the squad.

Nasarawa United did not have a particularly impressive performance in the first stanza of the league and were bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup race in the first round.

“We fell short of expectation in the first round. So we took a critical look at the team within the break and have come to the conclusion that we need some players to strengthen the club in some key areas,” Babanja told on Wednesday.

“Of course, some players will have to go for the new ones to come in. We’ve taken note of the individual players’ performances and have taken decision accordingly.

“By Thursday, we’ll make public those players who will have to go. Like I said, those new players we intend to sign we are still going through their transfer documentations which I hope will be finalized today (Wednesday) in Abuja.

“So by Thursday we’ll make known to the public and our fans those players who we have recruited to strengthen the team because the second stanza of the league will be real tough,” the Nasarawa United boss explained.
