Players of Glo Premier League outfit, Nasarawa United, have been rewarded with N200,000 by the state's Deputy Governor, Silas Agara, for their 1-0 win against Rangers last Sunday, completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Completesportsnigeria.com scooped that Agara made the promise to the players during his courtesy visit on Sunday before the game.
The money was given to the chairman of club Isaac Danladi, and was promptly handed over to the players.
"The deputy governor did that to encourage the players," Danladi said in a release made available to completesportsnigeria.com.
"He has urged them to work hard to win the remaining games this season.
"The money is just a gift because it is different from their match bonus."
The Solid Miners have enjoyed a fine run of form in recent weeks, ending Kano Pillars 12 years unbeaten home streak and Sunshine Stars' five years unbeaten record at the Akure Township Stadium in Akure.
