Nasri Banned For Six Months By UEFA Over Doping

Former Arsenal and Manchester City star Samir Nasri has been banned  for six months by UEFA for breaching doping rules.

Nasri, 30, underwent drip treatment at a Los Angeles clinic in 2016 while on holiday, contravening World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules.

Wada rules state a 50 millilitre infusion limit per six-hour period for active athletes.

However, according to reports, it was alleged Nasri received 500 millilitres of hydration in the form of sterile water containing micronutrient components.

At the time, while on loan from City at Sevilla, he felt unwell and started vomiting.

He called a doctor, his Maryland-based former girlfriend Dr Sarabjit Anand, who provided an initial diagnosis.

However, in line with UEFA rules Nasri has the right to appeal his sanction.

The French man is currently without a club, having left Antalyaspor in January after just six months with the Turkish team.

The former France international played for Arsenal from 2008 to 2011 before moving to City for £25 million.

He won two Premier League titles 2012, 2014) during his time at City.
