West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed a decision over whether Samir Nasri is handed a contract will be made next week. Former France international Nasri is currently serving a ban for breaching WADA rules in December 2016 by receiving an intravenous drip of 500 millilitres of water containing nutrients.
The 31-year-old’s suspension is due to finish at the end of December and he is eager to link up with Pellegrini again, having worked under the Chilean at Manchester City.
Nasri has been training with the Hammers in an attempt to earn a contract until the end of the season and the West Ham manager has revealed all will be revealed regarding the midfielder’s future next week.
“We are going to take the decision next week,” he said at a press conference. “Sami is working with us very well, he is losing weight, his mentality is to try and have a spot here with the squad, so we will see in the next days.”
