Ndidi: Leicester Fought Hard To Earn Away Point At Brighton

Wilfred Ndidi says Leicester City fought hard to earn an away draw despite having 10 men for over an hour against Brighton & Hove Albion in their Premier League clash at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday

Glenn Murray put Brighton in front with 15 minutes gone before James Maddison was shown two yellow cards in three minutes in the first period.

However, City were much improved after the break and deservedly drew level following a clinical penalty from Jamie Vardy, who like Ndidi came off the bench to play a significant role for Claude Puel’s outfit.

“We will take this one because we fought hard for it, we could’ve asked for more but it was just the game. We were 1-0 down, we had to fight for it, we knew we couldn’t settle to lose the game but the 1-1 is okay for us,”Ndidi told LCTV.

“Everyone knew what they were doing, and we actually saw the game at that time, we needed to get one goal and that came.

Mourinho Frustrated By United’s Lack of Intensity In Draw Vs Palace

“We tried to go for one more, it didn’t happen but it’s something we should learn from, from 1-0 down, it doesn’t mean the game is finished, we just need to keep going.”

“If we’d have got in another one, everyone would’ve been happier than we are now, but there are positives, we just settle for it.”

Up next for the Foxes is a Carabao Cup Fourth Round tie with Southampton at King Power Stadium on Tuesday 27 November (7:45pm GMT kick-off).

The Nigeria international said of the game: “This is really close and it keeps us focused, it isn’t just about the weekend and the next weekend also, it’s about putting in your mind that you have games in the week.

“We have to train, rest and look forward to the next game.”
