Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson could be set for a shock permanent transfer to the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim, according to reports. The 19-year-old looked set to commit his long-term future to the Gunners at the end of last season but then stalled on contract discussions.
He has failed to get in any of Arsenal’s squads so far this season, with the likes of Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order.
Nelson played sporadically for the first team last season, mainly being used in the Europa League, as he featured 16 times in all competitions.
However, the lure of first-team football with Julian Nagelsmann’s side might be too much for him to turn down and he could follow in the footsteps of fellow English youngster Jadon Sancho in moving to Germany to aid his development.
He was awarded the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award last year after he scored 10 goals to help Arsenal win the title at Under-23 level.
