Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba, the new head coach of Bafana Bafana, says that he is sure he “will not disappoint” South Africa as he steps into the massive task of leading the national team to the 2015 Africa Nations Cup.
Mashaba was unable to attend Saturday’s announcement and is currently in Mali, where he is with the South Africa under-20 team, preparing for next month’s African Youth Championships qualifier against Cameroun.
The former Swaziland coach spoke to the media after he was placed on loud speaker by SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble.
“Words fail me. Thank you to my family and supporters. I will pull out all the stops,” Mashaba said.
