Osimhen Tops As Super Eagles Lead In AFCON 2023 Squad Values At €349m; But Nigeria Not Top Title Favourites

The race for glory in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which starts on Saturday January 13 has become agog as Nigeria emerges as the undisputed leader in squad values chart, boasting a staggering €349 million lineup, with the dynamic Victor Osimhen spearheading the Super Eagles’ formidable squad.

According to BettingSites.co.uk report using data released by Transfermarkt.com, Osimhen’s market value alone surpasses that of 14 participating nations, including South Africa, Tunisia, and Zambia. With Osimhen valued at an impressive €110 million, he stands as a pivotal force, holding a commanding position in the tournament’s spotlight.

As the countdown to the AFCON unfolds, the stage is also set for an intense competition between other football powerhouses. Morocco, fresh off their 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-final stint, follows closely with a squad valued at €347.40 million, while Ivory Coast and Senegal round out the top contenders. Despite Nigeria’s unparalleled squad worth, the odds present an intriguing twist, placing them as joint third favorites alongside Cameroon and Egypt, with reigning champions Senegal leading the race at 6/1 odds.

Most Valuable Squad Nigeria – Joint Third Favourites To Win AFCON 2023

Reigning champions Senegal – who have the fourth highest squad value – are the joint 6/1 favourites to go on and win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria, who of course have the highest squad value at AFCON 2023, are the joint third favourites alongside Cameroon and Egypt (9/1). With the Pharaohs in mind, Mo Salah’s expected long absence could seriously harm Liverpool’s Premier League title chances.

However, the Reds didn’t lose a single game last time he was at AFCON, Man Utd goalkeeper Andre Onana may be weary of losing the number one spot at club level if Cameroon go far.

More pressure on Osimhen. Worth more than 14 whole nations squads at AFCON 2023, better put, at least 25 players times 14, not counting extra 2 each for squads that picked 27 players.

Equals over 350 MEN market value.

His value is 33% of Eagles squad.

Besides, Super Eagles are THE MOST EXPENSIVELY ASSEMBLED SQUAD of this tournament.

We no go gree if the team actually messes up. Heads should roll. Once in 24 months event should give those players enough patriotism to sit up and be counted.

  • Even on goal dot come and German hold, which is neew, the editorial was on Osimhen as per afcon. Without Osimhen, Super Eagles can’t score.
