By James Agberebi: The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have sent birthday wishes to former Nigeria international Mutiu Adepoju who clocked 47 on Friday.
The NFF sent the greetings on their verified Twitter handle.
“Happy birthday former Super Eagles Captain Mutiu Adepoju. Have a good one,” the NFF wrote.
Ibadan club 3SC, who got relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League last season, wrote: “Best birthday wishes to our ex player & general manager, #MutiuAdepoju #Headmaster. Congratulations. Age gracefully.”
Adepoju made his Super Eagles debut in 1992 before retiring in 2002.
He represented Nigeria at three Africa Cup of Nations in 1992, 1994 and 2002.
He was also a member of the Super Eagles team to the 1994, 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups.
At European club level, Mutiu played for Real Madrid Team B, Racing Santander and Real Sociedad.
