Please beat England for me I will appreciate that.

  • ojo samuel 3 years ago

I know that coach will take akpeyi to world cup…how can you send away someone you have not tested

  • Onyeagoro Johnson Chima 3 years ago

Why this politics in players selection? To me it seems  that some people are trying to edge out Moses Simon from the super eagles team by presenting a false scan result done in Port hacourt that the player has a tear. But the one repeated in Abuja the MRI did not reveal such. That is why he was included in the team going to England to repeat the scan there. Even the player contested the initial result of the scan.Nigeria we hail thee!!

    • @onye are u there sir ….are you in the super eagles camp? we should be careful with unverified speculations

  • Did u see d scan result.don’t just say wat u don’t hav proof of.

  • agbons 3 years ago

lokosa is better dan some of those players dat has been picked,,, he can be very offensive in the wing

  • Good choice to take Simon Moses along. Please and please, that guy must not be dropped. He, alongside Victor Moses and Mikel Obi are Nigeria’s most lethal threat going forward; with Iwobi, Iheanacho and Ighalo coming behind.

Now we have 26 players. Next to be dropped MIKEL AGU, OGEHENKARO ETEBO/JOHN OGU and CHIDOZIE AWAZIEM/OLA AINA. But very likely:

And that won’t be because of talent but “other” reasons from above.

Elderson Echiejile and/or Ken Omeruo may not survive.

    • Scrutiny 3 years ago

Echiejele should survive mostly due to the absence of competent and natural left back, except for Idowu (Ola is struggling in that position. Will do better on the right but has Shehu and Ebuehi to contend with. He too or Ebuehi might be dropped since we can’t take more than two of left/right back.). I think one central defender will be dropped- Omeruo or Chigozie. Mikel Agu should not be difficult to decide on- looks excess to the team. A major surprise inclusion might be Simon Nwankwo, who is a strong possibility if Moses Simon doesn’t make it. He seems to have taken his chances quite well with his strong debut with the Congolese. Otherwise,he would just have been a logical name to take out of the Russian bound team given his relative newness. Let’s see how much his luck can push him.

  • ALFREDINHO 3 years ago

Please the Super Eagles needs Etebo at Russia to torment Lionel Messi the same way he did when Barcelona played Las Pamas .

Simone in and onyekuru out it doesn’t make sense Nigerians are not fools. Nff will face the wrath after we are booted out of wc even mikel likes Henry onyekuru

Lokosa dropping pain me like seriously

  • Yes. I still see akpeyi as  number keeper. Though he lacked courage last two games but he is very good keeper .he needs our encouragement. Very soon people will know he is the best.

chaii !!!, Nigerians nawaooo ,its that how other nations behave. what a way to confused someone,
drop this guy,why do u drop this guy?, why dont u invit this one? , ur (Rorh) selection is bias, this guy is not a good player and u are still taking him to wc.
what exactly do u guys want Rorh to do ? ?? .
anyway, my joys is, u guys only have the “says” while Mr Rorh have the “will” .

  • I strongly suspect any of Simmy, Joel Obi, Ola Aina, Mikel Agu or Moses Simon (due to injury unfortunately) will be dropped.

I was a huge fan of Joel Obi at one point but presently, I question whether he brings any added value to the team.

Also, he is too injury-prone. I guess he is an adequate midfielder.

Still, the coach knows best. I stand to be corrected in my suggestions as I am no expert.

    Good luck Super Eagles….

  • payo Idim 3 years ago

Too many bench coaches with bias minds. Perhaps you want the Rohr to carry along all Nigerian footballers. He has filtered them with nff support. Pray for team success and stop this politics of persons. One love.

  • For those saying drop Echiejile, well, why I may not be a fan of his, I believe going with him to the World Cup will do a lot for the team- experience wise and also the fact still remains he is not susceptible to the occasional lapses even if his attacking instincts seem lame. Aina is way too inexperience and raw, an example is the penalty against Congo, as for our midfield I would prefer Etebo because of his versatility and I don’t support Mikel Agu to the world cup, that midfield has too many of his likes on board. For keepers, I will want Ezenwa instead of these recent preferred choice of Francis. Just my opinion sha…

I’m not sure Simon Moses will make the team if the prognosis is three to four weeks. He’s not that kind of a superstar to be given any kind of leeway when he’s not going to be fully fit until the end of the group stage. I don’t know if the dude is actually a tournament player. Under John Obuh he made the team to the 2013 U20 WorldCup, but didn’t kick a ball. In 2015 he was in Manu Garba’s team to New Zealand. He fell sick during the tournament and was not fit to play, except for a cameo appearance in only one of the group stage matches. Now the same scenario all over again. I really feel for him, but if he’s not fit there’s no need to risk his career at this stage.

Ola Aina is already a standby in case of an injury to any of the full backs. Therefore, Simon and Aina are not guaranteed to be in the final 23. Leaving only one more player to be dropped. That will be one of the midfielders. I’m sure Mikel and Ndidi are untouchable. Baring any fitness issue I don’t think Rohr will drop Joel Obi and Onazi. Obi hasn’t played a game on the pitches of Nigeria since 2011, yet he showed some flashes of brilliance during the time he was on the pitch. I don’t think any of our midfielders in camp are as fast and energetic as he is. He brings a different dimension to our midfield and I need to see him play alongside Mikel against England to see what he brings to the table. Between Etebo, Ogu and Agu one will be dropped. Etebo is more established in the team than the latter two. The final place in the team is most likely going to be between Ogu and Agu.

Good analysis, Ayphilly! I agree with you, except for a few slight areas. First, I believe that the Moses Simon that we saw in the qualifiers is a much improved Simon from the one that went to the U-20 championships. On current (World Cup qualifiers) form I’ll definitely take him ahead of Musa if the scan report comes in his s favour.
Also the Joel Obi of today seems a tad slower and less assured than the Joel Obi that we knew under Samson Siasia. For me John Ogu is currently ahead of Joel Obi. Hence the final choice would be between Joel Obi and Mikel Agu. Of course, I’ll pick Joel ahead of Mikel Agu. But then the coaches have the final say, and I’ll respect their choices because they see the players in closer quarters than us

  • Rohr should drop Ola aina, Mikel Agu and Joel Obi. Mikel Agu and Joel have not impressed me in Super Eagles shirt recently. He has 2 defensive midfielders already, Onazi and Ndidi. Mikel Obi, Etebo and Ogu can also play defensive in contigency situations and Etebo and Alex can play 10 role. Let our attack be full of stars and players that can make difference. We need Moses Simon in that team. I pray he is fit before the world cup start. He is better than Musa, Iwobi, Etebo in that Left flank. He also dribbles better and go pass defenders better.

  • Sunnyb 3 years ago

Chima samuels,a fully fit simon is far better than Iwobi, Iheanacho all day, but I know u guys,u guys picks players based on their last or first names. Remember Keshi tried that before, I’m sure u guys still remember the outcome.in a sane society Agbo, Ogu, Agu, Ezenwa, Iheanacho, Iwobi,Awesziem, Onazi,Musa, Akpeyi, will not go to World Cup. But Nigeria Bribery and sentiments rules.

  • Ballack 3 years ago

Awaezim, Mikel Agu and Simon (injured) will be dropped.

  • Kingsley 3 years ago

Well,if all these guys u are mentioning didn’t go to the world then who will u pick to go??…. sadly for Moses Simon he may not go to the world as Rohr himself isn’t ready to gamble with the guy as also with the performance of Simy against DRC, Rohr won’t be much bothered if Moses can’t make the cut leaving only two more players to b dropped… in the defence, I see Aina being drop,so far Rohr is using Shehu and Ebuehi at right back meaning those two won’t be dropped leaving the competition now for Idowu, Echiejile and Aina, base on experience Rohr won’t drop Echiejile and Idowu is best placed to make the cut than Aina…then in the midfield, the battle will be between Joel Obi and Agu and unsurprisingly Mikel Agu will be dropped.

  • Tammy 3 years ago

please drop m.Agu, simy nwankwo and echiejile

  • The problem is not mikel agu onazi.awaziem.aina should be drop. Joel can play the left back positio very well.as for mike agu he is not skillfull but can mark very well. onazi Is playing nonsense now he is not soupose to be in that team some said he has expirence but am not seen the expirience not only onazi omeruo.echiejile. Has no biznes there but we cant stop them rohr has the final say. We have good players but they were not invited the likes of stanley amuzie.efe ambrose.anderson esiti. Amuzie is far better than echiejile. esiti is very good in the midfield he is strong skillful &fast efe ambrose is far better than omeruo&awazie. Gr has made his choice let’s pray &souport our super eagles. May GOD guide eagles to the semi finals in jesus name amen. Up9ja
